Anal Glands
I do not Express Anal Glands . If a dog truly needs it done and has issues it is best done at a Vet as they an do it internally and help address the situation. Dogs really shouldn’t be getting them expressed every time they get groomed as well as the common practice is to.
If there is a present Ear Infection I will not pluck ears. As it can aggravate and add to the ear infection. When dogs have issues present it is best to have the vet to take are of the ear plucking if it is a extreme ear condition or wait until the ear infection is cleared. I will always apply ear cleaner to dogs ears and cotton balls help prevent water from getting into their ears. But depending on case by case I try to limit how much contact with cleaning till the ear infection is cleared up.
I will only partially pluck ears as too much plucking can aggravate the ear follicles and cause infection . As keeping in some hair does help leave protection.
Please take time to read all below if you are considering us for your services.
•Pricing is a starting point, every dogs price will determine in person and at end of service total amount.
•Pricing is reflected based on breed, size of dog, temperament, coat , desired coat length, and any matting & impacted undercoat. More work will reflect on the cost.
•Pricing starting points are also reflected on dogs on a regular schedule of 2-8 weeks.
When dogs are matted it causes them great discomfort with grooming. It actually makes an negative impact on them, you want them to enjoy to be groomed as it is apart of life. Because of that, I will only De-matt a dog with reasonable amount of matting. Shaving down and starting over is the most humane for matted coats.
Dogs who are in conditions less than ideal , what normally would be expected in a 2-8 week schedule with minimal knots, should expect grooming Prices could be almost double to triple depending on severity. Prices are reflected on an hourly to charge for my time at an hourly rate of $110 hr. ($120 per hr for poodles, doodles, poo’s Bichons, & Wheaten Terriers. ) de-matting or Impacted coats. Multiple appointments maybe needed for severally Impacted coats.
If I cannot safely remove extreme matting if the dog is not reacting positively grooming , Services will be halted or referred to a vet sedated groom to remove the matting humanely.
Pawlished Puppies does NOT groom pelted or encased coated dogs. Dogs in these conditions should be groomed under the guidance of a vet. It does hurt the dogs when matting is extremely tight in Pelted & Incased conditions. Dogs post care for a pelted/ encased dogs skin issues will be very sensitive and need extra tlc, as they can cause bruising, hematomas, redden skin, heighten skin sensitivity. Which is best monitored by a vet and have the dogs groomed under a groomer at a vet .
